Please join us for this event, as MAS hosts a Spokane Developers Panel. Our four panelists are local developers who are actively working on projects in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area. They will discuss the markets they are currently pursuing, as well as their upcoming projects beyond 2015. This program will be moderated by Jim Harakas, PE, LG, LEG, Senior Principal at GeoEngineers, Inc.

ABOUT THE PANEL:

  • James Rivard, Managing Principal, SRM Construction:  James is responsible for the overall real estate acquisition, development, leasing and disposition strategy and activities of SRM. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM). James loves that each day on the job presents new challenges and new opportunities. He enjoys working with a team of bright, capable and driven people.
  • Dave Black, Principal & CEO, NAI Black:  Dave is the CEO and Principal of NAI Black, a full service commercial real estate company in Spokane, Washington formed in 1958, consisting of retail, office, industrial, investment, and corporate services divisions, as well as property management and consulting. Dave has been a commercial and residential developer for over 30 years and manages in excess of 50 L.L.C.’s owning over $150 million of real estate.
  • Guy Byrd, Managing Director, Sperry Van Ness/Cornerstone: Guy is the Managing Director of Brokerage, Development, and Property Management services for Sperry Van Ness Cornerstone. He has been an active member of the Commercial Real Estate community in Eastern Washington and North Idaho since 1985. Having worked in the real estate profession for 30 years, Guy is well-experienced in all areas of real estate services, and is a licensed broker in both Washington and Idaho.
  • Barry Baker, President & CEO, Baker Construction & Development: Barry started his career after graduating from Central Washington University in 1977 with a BA in Business Administration. He graduated on a Saturday, and started working at his parent’s construction company the following Monday where he has remained for 38 years.  Since 1977, Barry has been building a team of professionals and Baker now does business in 12 western states.  In addition to construction activities, Barry has developed and manages a successful portfolio of diverse investment properties encompassing commercial, healthcare, office, financial and retail facilities.  Barry currently serves on the boards of the following organizations, Modern Electric & Water Company, Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce, Fairmount Memorial Association, University District, Spokane County Medical Society Foundation and the Boy Scouts of America. 

ABOUT THE MODERATOR:

  • Jim Harakas, PE, LG, LEG, Senior Principal, GeoEngineers, Inc.: With over 40 years of experience in the architecture/engineering/construction industry, Jim serves as a Senior Principal geotechnical engineer in GeoEngineers’ Spokane office and is responsible for business development, project planning, engineering management, technical direction, and final review of technical documents. He is a professional civil engineer in six states and a licensed geologist and engineering geologist in Washington.  Jim has worked on thousands of projects throughout the Inland and Pacific Northwest throughout his career for private- and public-sector clients. Many of those projects included retail developments, office buildings, industrial and manufacturing facilities, single- and multi-family housing, military installations, transportation facilities, K-12 and higher education facilities.
