Mayoral Candidates Perspectives

Sep 05 2019
11:30 AM - 01:15 PM
11:30 AM - 01:15 PM

Please join us as we host the winners of August’s primary Spokane mayoral election (TBA in August) for a discussion on their perspectives related to development, infrastructure and transportation opportunities, priorities and challenges in the region. This discussion will be moderated by Linn Parish, editor of the Spokane Journal of Business, who will pose the following questions:

  • What transit-related projects have the highest priority to you and your administration if elected?
  • What do you see as the biggest infrastructure challenge in the coming years with the increased growth in the region?
  • A lot has been done by the current administration to expedite the permitting process for new development. What additional changes do you think need to be addressed to enable private developers to want to build their projects in this region?
  • Over the years, more and more work related to stormwater studies, transportation and infrastructure projects have been kept in-house. Do you foresee this continuing to be a trend at the City or do you see room to bring on more consultants and contractors to help lead the design and construction work?
  • What priorities related to economic development do you plan on focusing on and lobbying about to legislators?
