Manufacturing has long been an economic driver in Spokane County and indicators show that it continues to strengthen.  Marketing Associates of Spokane is proud to host a Manufacturing/Industrial Panel where our panelists will discuss:

KEVIN PERSON, CEO 

Kevin has served in the aluminum industry for more than 36 years, including 21 years with Kaiser Aluminum at several domestic and international locations in various positions within their engineering, maintenance, technical sales, and customer service organizations.  He joined Wagstaff in 1998 as Application Engineering Manager and became Vice-President Sales and Marketing in 2006. In 2011 he was named Chief Executive Officer. Kevin serves on the Board of Directors of The Aluminum Association and is a member of the Board of Trustees of Greater Spokane Incorporated and is a member of the of the Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Washington.

Jubilant HollisterStier

GREG BENZEL, DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING & VALIDATION

Greg Benzel is the Director of Engineering for Jubilant HollisterStier Laboratories, a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical contract and allergenic immunotherapy products.  As a contract manufacturer, Jubilant HollisterStier produces sterile injectable pharmaceutical products for both small and large pharma companies across the globe as well as their own allergy products since 1921.  Greg is in charge of facilities engineering, maintenance, metrology, validation, and project management for the site.  During his 13 year tenure at Jubilant HollisterStier, Greg has led facility expansion projects totaling in upwards of $50M, contributing to a 300% growth in business.  He oversees technical engineering and project management services in support of custom contracted client products as well as ensuring facility regulatory compliance. 

Prior to Jubilant HollisterStier, Greg worked as a senior manufacturing engineer in the electronics contract manufacturing arena and aerospace electronic warfare industry.  Further career experience included machine design and maintenance engineering for a leading metals manufacturer in support of the nuclear and aerospace industries.

Greg received his Bachelors of Science, Mechanical Engineering in 1993 from Washington State University.  He is an active member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers and ASHRAE.

Greg Takisaki, Central Engineering Manager

Greg Takisaki is Central Engineering Manager at Kaiser Aluminum – Trentwood in Spokane Valley. He is responsible for developing, planning, organizing and managing capital, reliability and process improvement projects. Greg has held various engineering and management positions within the Trentwood organization.

Greg holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and BA in Business from Washington State University. He also has a MBA from Gonzaga University and holds a Professional Engineering license in Electrical Engineering from the State of Washington.
