How’s Your Hit Rate?
If It’s Not 100%, You Need To Attend This Program!
A/E/C firms spend significant time and resources submitting proposals to clients in an effort to get shortlisted and selected for a project. Despite their best efforts, most firms have an average win rate of 1 out of 3 because clients find the submittals and presentations are often non-responsive, don’t address their specific needs, or look and sound the same as their competitors. How can you make your firm stand out?
This is a chance to learn the key ingredients for winning proposals and presentations from veteran marketer, Carla Thompson, FSMPS, Chief Marketing Officer for NAC|Architecture. During lunch she will share how to go beyond what you presented in your proposal to deliver an experience, not a rehearsed speech, to boost your win rate in shortlist interviews. After lunch you will review 16 real-life proposals from a Seattle-area city hall project and see if you can pick the winning submittal.
With more than 30 years’ experience in the A/E industry, Thompson most recently served as Global Marketing Director for MulvannyG2 Architecture. As the CMO for NAC, she is responsible for setting marketing and sales strategies, fostering employee engagement, and elevating brand awareness for the firm. She leads a dedicated group of senior marketing professionals focused on identifying and securing new projects and positioning the firm in its key markets.
Thompson is serving a third-term on the National Board of Directors for the Society for Professional Services (SMPS), the only marketing and business development association serving A/E/C professionals and their firms. She was named a Fellow of SMPS in 1999 in recognition of her significant contributions to the profession. She has over 100 seminars, workshops, and presentations to her credit for SMPS, AIA, ACEC, Society for Design Administrators, Marketing Associates of Washington, Zweig White, and The Coxe Group; numerous articles in national publications; and more than a dozen marketing communication awards.
